My Video Won GOLD!

A video I shot for Anchour won GOLD at the Maine Ad + Design Broderson Awards last week! 🥇 WOOHOO!

“Fake Mustache” was shot in Biddeford, Maine for Venture Solar, a solar panel installation company that services most of the northeast, and edited by Anchour. We used two Venture employees as the “talent,” and we were laughing way too much as we shot it – watch the 50-second video to understand why 😂

The size of the crew was truly staggering: just a couple of fellas. It was comprised of my friend Mike at Anchour, who was on audio & directing duties, and me on video & lighting duties. It’s proof that sometimes all you need to achieve your video goals is a scrappy little two-person team 🙂

While we also shot a more “serious” video that breaks down what their installation process looks like, we shot “Fake Mustache” for an additional ad with some technical imperfections and a little humorous spin – “Disrupting the Solar Market with humor,” as the awards judges put it.

It’s been a pleasure not only working with the folks at Anchour in recent months – including for Wal-Mart, Agren Appliance, and a Portland-based medspa – but shooting video in a commercial capacity as well.

In addition, I’m truly thankful to have a video I shot win an award – even if it was something as silly as “Fake Mustache.”
